My Future as a writer...

Well i never really thought of myslef as a writer becasue i only ever wrote for a class. But now i think that i might change that for i find i really enjoy writing. The main thing i want to continue is my song story and kind-of do what Chuck did in Killing yourslef to live which is part of the reason i titled that paper 95% of a true story. I enjoy being a student so i hope being a teacher will be just as fun!

postsecret response

wow i love this idea i mean some people dont like to keep things bottled up inside but they dont have anyone to talk to and so this is a way of relief. coming from someone who knows how hard it is to keep feelings inside i love this idea and am thinking about submitting one but as crazy as it sounds i dont feel like i have any secrets or at least none that i can think of right now

facebook withdrawls..or lack there of

well wow maybe my addiction to facebook has been broken because for the last few days i have not been able to go on whenever i like and although it sucks cause it interferes with the time i can talk to my boyfriend "unsupervised"(my rents listen to my phone convos) i actually dont miss it that much. maybe because i am determined to prove a point to my dad that i am not acting like i did in high school and that i still care about my future. idk i just dont understand what his problem is with facebook! :/

killing yourself to live

When this book was first assigned for this course i was very sceptical about what the class would be like but i liked the class and once we started reading the book i found it hard to put down even if i didn't always know what the reference was chuck was making. The book although jumps all over is very interesting and some would see this as an improvement he could make but i like the randomness of his story because i find it more interesting to read and i ramble and jump from topic to topic as well(maybe not as much as he does but still). I think i would recommend this book but not to everyone. The first criteria i think i would look for in a person when recommending it is that they know at least some of the bands mentioned in the book even if they don't know as much as Chuck(lets face not many people probably DO know as much as him) and second that they don't mind the jumping around because if your not use to following someone who jumps around a lot i think the book would be lost on you.

my favortie monster....

This is B.O.B (Benzoate Ostylezene Bicarbonate). he is an awesome monster from the coolest 3d movie i have seen in a while. He is not the brightest crayon in the box but he is still a great friend. he is my favorite monster because he proves you dont need a brain to live and he falls in love with a jello mold. if you have not seen the movie to understand why i love b.o.b than you should really watch the movie and find out!

Scary or silly face
What will yours be
Painted or carved
They are all great for they shout
Its Halloween time again!

i originally wanted this poem to be in the shape of a pumpkin but i made it my free verse because i am not good at drawing. i wrote this poem because halloween is coming up and it is my favorite time of year!

Cool Poet

While searching through some "new" poets i came across ZeroBy Debra Kaufman and i liked it alot especially since she read it. i'm not really sure why i like it except that the flow of it is good and i guess in a way i can understand if not realte to what the poem is about. the link here is to listen to her poem http://www.indyweek.com/gyrobase/Content?oid=oid%3A209109 her poem is the third place winner from indyweek. Debera is retired from Duke University to concentrate on writing full time. she also writes plays but so far i have been unable to locate anymore information about her other work!

Kenn Nesbitt-Halloween Party

Halloween Party
by Kenn Nesbitt
We’re having a Halloween party at school.
I’m dressed up like Dracula. Man, I look cool!
I dyed my hair black, and I cut off my bangs.
I’m wearing a cape and some fake plastic fangs.
I put on some makeup to paint my face white,
like creatures that only come out in the night.
My fingernails, too, are all pointed and red.
I look like I’m recently back from the dead.
My mom drops me off, and I run into school
and suddenly feel like the world’s biggest fool.
The other kids stare like I’m some kind of freak—
the Halloween party is not till next week.

I love this poem not because the boy gets laughed at but because i can understand the fact of being SO excitied that you jump the gun about something ESPECIALLY halloween, it is by far one of my favorite holidays and i have had the best time working at a halloween store for the last two years, i wish it was open longer than just two months! halloween is just a fun time where you can be anyone you want to be and enjoy it even if it is for only one night!

Rapunzel the Final edition

Rapunzel’s Reprieve
Rapunzel had never known a life outside the second floor of Dame Gothel’s house except for a couple months of bliss when she was able to sneak out to the meadow across from the house and watch the castle and sunset, which was so beautiful she could find no comparison to it. After sneaking out undetected for a couple months, Rapunzel’s long hair caught on the rose fence that she used to escape her prison. The next morning Dame Gothel had to cut her long hair upon discovering her because of how tangled it was and proceeded to remove the rose fence she used to escape. After she was free, Dame Gothel locked Rapunzel in her room with little food for three days before she finally came to speak to her.
Once Dame Gothel came to speak to her, she asked about what Rapunzel did and if she had meet anyone on her outings. Rapunzel told her about looking at the castle and the sunset and said that a few nights prior to being caught she had met the Prince and was in fact on her way to meet him again when her hair got caught because she loved him and wanted to marry him. This news infuriated Dame Gothel who hated men and needed Rapunzel to take care of her when she got older so she sent Rapunzel to live with her sister, Dame Nelsen. Dame Gothel knew that this would be a good solution for her sister hated men more than she for her husband had left her for a prettier woman and her sister lived deep in the woods where few ever traveled. This would keep Rapunzel hidden so she would see no one and by the time she returned to her house the Prince would likely have taken another bride for he was due to take over for his father soon.
Once at Dame Nelsen’s, Rapunzel was even more depressed for she missed the Prince although she liked the new freedom for Dame Nelsen, although meaner than her sister, allowed Rapunzel to roam around the house. After being with Dame Nelsen for three months, Rapunzel saw the Prince ride by in the forest for he knew Dame Gothel had a sister who lived there. She longed to speak to him and knew that Dame Nelsen would not awake from her nap for a while so she snuck out to meet him. From that day on for a week the Prince and Rapunzel met during Dame Nelsen’s nap to plan their escape and where they would go for they could not return to their home for everyone feared Dame Gothel as a witch.
On the night of the escape Dame Gothel contacted her sister and found out that when her sister awoke from her nap, Rapunzel was missing and that chunks of her hair where found all over the house. Dame Gothel then knew Rapunzel had ran away with the Prince for she put a curse on Rapunzel that would make her lose her precious hair leaving her bald so no man would love her and she would return to serving Dame Gothel. A few months after Rapunzel’s disappearance, Dame Nelsen died which started the accelerated aging of Dame Gothel. This was caused because of a curse placed on her family stating that after the eldest child died the youngest would soon follow unless she found true love. The only way to counter act the curse was if Dame Gothel had a child who loved her enough to care for her then she would live out a full life, this is why Dame Gothel had obtained Rapunzel when she was born for she thought no man could ever be trusted.
Dame Gothel was near death when Rapunzel came to see her. She was confused by Rapunzel’s presence for she was still bald but had a wedding ring on and it had been over six month’s since her sister’s death. Rapunzel said she had heard that Dame Gothel was dying and although she did not love her because of the life she had been subjected to at her hands, she wanted to say goodbye and tell her that even bald she was still loved and was living a happy life. Dame Gothel began to weep for she could not believe her ears and told Rapunzel to leave. The next night Dame Gothel died and Rapunzel’s hair grew back for Dame Gothel used the rest of her strength to reverse the curse she had placed on the child that was like her own and died knowing that not all men are evil and some can look beyond beauty.
THE END

I choose this image because it has to do with my story as well my career path. I want to be a teacher and in my version of Rapunzel she teaches old Dame Gothel something, and this is the best representation i could find of the young teaching the old because even teachers can learn from thier students.

my version of Rapunzel

Hey so here is my first attempt at rewriting Rapunzel, if you guys want the original copy of the story i used let me know and i will send it to you! hope you enjoy!

Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair! This was the life that poor Rapunzel had come to know. An enchantress that she knew as Dame Gothel had locked her in a tower that had no door or stairs, the only way to ascend to see Rapunzel was by climbing up her magnificently long hair.

After being there for a couple years she grew tired of only seeing Dame Gothel and the small space she lived in, so she decided to try to call out to anyone who might pass in hopes they would help her escape her prison. Although she knew it unlikely someone would pass her tower because everyone feared Dame Gothel, she started singing everyday by her only window to attract anyone who might be near.

Finally, one day the King and his men were riding by the tower when they heard Rapunzel's magical voice. The king sent his men to investigate where the sound was coming from and in time, they found the tower and called up to Rapunzel asking her to come down. Since there was no stairs, Rapunzel told the men she could not come down and the only way to come up was to climb up her hair. The men told her they would be back with some way of getting her down for the King wanted to meet her.

Rapunzel was excited for she finally thought that she would escape her tower for good, she only hoped that Dame Gothel did not find out about her plan to escape. For three days, Rapunzel waited but the men never returned. She became very sad and asked Dame Gothel if she had seen the King riding around lately. Dame Gothel immediately knew her fears were correct and she did the smart thing by telling the kings men there was no longer any girl in her tower for she had died suddenly in her sleep. Dame Gothel became angry with Rapunzel for she should not know who was riding near by unless she had in fact talked to them, which is what Dame Gothel had forbidden her to do. In her anger, she sent Rapunzel to live in a far away land so she could never again have contact with another human.

Rapunzel was sad and alone living in a beautiful land that had not yet been claimed by any as their own land. Although her surroundings were beautiful she was still alone and now she did not even have Dame Gothel to talk too. After almost a month of being alone Rapunzel heard someone calling out but she was not sure who it was and although she craved company, she was suddenly afraid. When the yelling got closer she realized it was her name they were shouting so she peaked out of her small shack and there she saw the king’s men that had vowed to rescue her from the tower.

She finally showed herself and the men asked if she was all right and said they had orders to bring her to the king at once. She was happy to be found and was tempted to go but said she could not for she was afraid of what Dame Gothel would do to the king or anyone who brought her back to the town they lived in. Therefore, the men left her there at her request, which she thought to be bittersweet because although she saved them, she also found herself alone again.

A couple weeks after the men had left the king’s son Prince Michael had come to see Rapunzel. They talked for hours about everything they could think of and realized they were in love as they watched the sunset on the beach. The Prince understood why Rapunzel did not want to return even though he assured her no harm would befall her, so he asked if he may stay with her for he could not bear to leave her now that he knew she had a beautiful soul and mind to match the beautiful voice his father had told him about. The two lived together on the beach for many years and just as their first son was born; the king’s men found them and told them that Dame Gothel was dead so they could return to their home with absolutely no fear. Prince Michael and Rapunzel agreed to return so that they could properly get married and introduce the king to his new grandson, but refused to stay more than a couple weeks. They explained that they had their own home that was far away from the reminders of Rapunzel's past life and it was in that home where they should end their happily ever after together.

so wow! I got called into work today from noon to 430 which was no big deal, my class wasn't till 6. so i worked and had some fun but then i got my schedule for next week and i work 5/7 days and one of those days i request off because i'm at school all day. I enjoy the money and it is a fun job but since its halloween usa, i didnt expect that many hours in the second week we were open! then at work i find out that at my old job another girl quit leaving the manager with 2 girls to work the last 3 weeks, i feel bad since i'm one of the girls that quit last week but with my current schedule with my new job and school its not possible for me to go back which is sad cause i feel bad for the owner, oh well not my problem, he should have listened to us when we asked him to hire more girls a few months ago fact of life though: "LIVE AND LEARN!!"
